# Refresh balance

Synchronously refresh and return the current balance for one address and asset within one chain family.
New refreshes share a project-wide rolling limit across all chain families. A request counts
toward the limit even if the refresh fails. A limit response includes the effective `max` and
`window_seconds`, with `Retry-After` when waiting can restore capacity. When `max` is zero,
refresh is prohibited and no timed retry is provided. Temporary service unavailability returns 503.

Endpoint: POST /balances/{family}/actions/refresh
Version: 2.0.0
Security: Auth

## Security:

  - `Auth` (unknown)
apiKey in header X-Api-Key scopes: api:balance:read

## Path parameters:

  - `family` (string, required)
Chain family for the balance operation. Solana supports catalog data only; balance operations for Solana return 422.

## Header parameters:

  - `Idempotency-Key` (string, required)
Case-sensitive opaque key for one mutation intent. Send exactly one header occurrence containing 1 to 128 visible ASCII bytes (0x21..0x7e). Commas are literal data; do not trim, lowercase or require UUID syntax. Reuse the same key for retries, with current authorization checked on every attempt. Repeated header occurrences are rejected.

and usage again.
