# Summarize balances

Summarize balances by asset across the project's tracked addresses in one chain family. Chain, asset and amount filters apply before pagination; `meta.total` counts matching assets. Amount bounds use nonnegative integer strings in each asset's base units, without decimal normalization between assets. Known amounts can match even when unsynchronized; unknown amounts match only when both bounds are omitted. Without bounds, zero balances also match. Use `min_amount=1` for positive known balances. Results follow ascending canonical asset GID byte order. A `min_amount` greater than `max_amount` returns HTTP 400.

Endpoint: GET /balances/{family}/summary
Version: 2.0.0
Security: Auth

## Security:

  - `Auth` (unknown)
apiKey in header X-Api-Key scopes: api:balance:read

## Path parameters:

  - `family` (string, required)
Chain family for the balance operation. Solana supports catalog data only; balance operations for Solana return 422.

## Query parameters:

  - `chain_gid` (array)
Filter balances by blockchain identifiers (CAIP-2 format). If not specified, returns all blockchains.

  - `asset_gid` (array)
Filter balances by specific assets (CAIP-19 format). If not specified, returns all assets.

  - `min_amount` (string)
Inclusive minimum aggregate amount in each asset's base units, applied before pagination. Unsynchronized known amounts can match; unknown amounts cannot.

  - `max_amount` (string)
Inclusive maximum aggregate amount in each asset's base units, applied before pagination. Unsynchronized known amounts can match; unknown amounts cannot.

  - `page` (integer)
    Page number for pagination.

  - `limit` (integer)
Maximum number of items to return.

## Response 200:

  - `200` (unknown)
Paginated summary of balances by asset across the project's tracked addresses.

## Response 200 fields (application/json):

  - `items` (array, required)

  - `items.asset_gid` (string, required)
Global asset identifier in [CAIP-19](https://chainagnostic.org/CAIPs/caip-19) format.
Format: `{chain_gid}/{asset_path}`

partial sum; the amount is omitted entirely, never zero, when it is
unknown.

  - `references` (object, required)
Related objects included in the response, keyed by ID.
